SOLAR FIELD MAINTENANCE, RWANDA

Solar Field Maintenance Service, Agahozo Shalom Youth Village (ASYV) Rwanda. The solar field generates enough electricity to contribute to a roughly 10 percent increase in Rwanda’s electricity supply.

TELECOMS SUPPORT PROJECTS

PPS has engineered multiple projects for telecommunication companies, such as Grande Communications, Spectrum, CenturyLink, so they could extend their fiber optic network to serve new customers. The projects require PPS to perform the necessary field work to determine the make ready recommendations for the telecoms to attach their fiber to utility poles. From this data, PPS prepares Pole Attachment Applications for the respective pole owners.

ELECTRICITY ACCESS PROJECT, UGANDA

Rural Electricity Access Project. The project was part of the Government of Uganda ten year rural electrification program (RESP-2) to expand access to electricity. The project expanded the grid medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) distribution networks spread over five service territories (ST) in 16 district areas and provide last-mile connections to households, public infrastructure and small and medium enterprises.

COMPARATIVE LOAD PROJECT

Hondo Electric Cooperative Load Study. PPS performed two separate studies for the analysis of residential loading. One Study identifies an accurate methodology to calculate load when all of the necessary load information is available regarding appliance sizes for a residential unit.

SUBSTATION UPGRADE

Hondo Substation Upgrade. PPS completed engineering planning to upgrade the Electric Substation in Hondo in order to allow the substation to operate at optimum capacity. The upgrade consisted of reconductoring all existing circuits from the substation to the distribution riser poles.
